US Soccer D License

The New US Soccer “D” license still maintains the foundation of 36 course hours spread out over two weekends, but the course also introduces a new concept to U.S. Soccer courses. Coaches will be required to prepare and run a set of pre-determined training sessions prior to the first weekend, now called the “Instructional Weekend/ Phase”. After completing the first weekend, coaches will take what they have learned into practice with their clubs, teams and players. Coaches will be required to wait a minimum of ten weeks (or a season) before returning for the second weekend, now called the “Evaluation Weekend/Performance Review”.

*As of Jan. 1, 2013, waivers into the D License Course are NO LONGER accepted. Even if a coach has a previously-approved waiver, it is no longer valid. Holding the US Soccer “E” Certificate/License for a minimum of six months is a prerequisite for the “D” Instructional Weekend.

All coaches must have successfully completed the"E" coaching license course and held the" E" coaching license fpr at least 6 months before attending a "D" Instructional Weekend.
