This past weekend, former VYSA President, Mavis Derflinger, was inducted into the US Youth Soccer Hall of Fame. Mavis along with US Youth Soccer founders Karl Grosch and Jimmie Woodford and player Julie Foudy were recoginized for their contributions at the US Youth Soccer Workshop Awards Dinner in Ft. Aaron Brunner and Stephanie Myrick both of PWSI and named as VYSA and Region I award winners this year,  were selected as US Youth Soccer award winners this past week at the US Youth Soccer Workshop Awards dinner in Ft. Worth, TX.  Aaron was named the US Youth Soccer 2010 Boys Competitive Coach of the Year and Stephanie was named the US Youth Soccer 2010 Young Female Referee of the Year.

Spring State Cup appliations are now available. 

• Boys and Girls teams in the U14, U13 and U12 age groups interested in competing in Spring State Cup should click here to apply.  Deadline for applications for the U14, U13, and U12 age groups is 4:00 pm March 19, 2010 at the VYSA State Office.
• Boys and Girls teams in the U19 age group interested in competing in Spring State Cup should click here to apply.   The deadline for applicatins for the U19 age group is 4:00 pm May 14, 2010 at the VYSA State Office.

Nationwide Insurance and the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) are pleased to announce a long term relationship that could save VYSA members money on their auto insurance. The offer is effective immediately and is subject to state insurance laws and regulations.

The goal of the VCA is to offer continuing education to coaches who are in between their formal coaching licenses. The Academy is aimed at those coaches who are interested in acquiring new information, supplementing what they already have and staying connected to the developments of the modern game.
 

Virginia Youth Soccer Association will host a National Youth License Course this summer
Date:           July 16 - 18 and July 24-25, 2010             Fee:            $700

Virginia Youth Soccer Association will also host a USSF "C" Course this summer.
Date:           August 12-15 and August 19-22, 2010     Fee:            $710
