Dribbling for Confidence - Aaron Brunner

One of the keys to developing young players’ confidence is to improve their skills when the ball is at their feet.  Coach Brunner will take the coaches on a journey of activities to develop dribbling from U6 to U10 age groups.
10:00-11:00 am
Following the Bouncing Ball - Paul Shaw
Get the ball down!  First touch sets up all other decisions a player has to make.  Progressive activities will be presented for the U6 to U10 player.
11:45-12:45 pm Fun Shooting Games - Rob Olson
  "We want to score goals" is a common cry from coaches.  Coach Olson will present a fun progression of activities for players to convert chances.
1:30-2:30 pm
Passing is the Name of the Game - Carl Gray

If you can’t pass, you can’t play!  What type of activities should we use to develop this important aspect of our sport?  A progressive age-appropriate session will be presented.

3:00-4:00 pm
TOPSoccer Coaching Demonstration - Auke Wiersma
Coach Wiersma will present an on-field session for players with special needs.

Strike, Think, Move - Gordon Miller 

Lessons gleaned from the world’s top soccer programs.  Coach Miller will present modern thoughts on activities that enhance skill acquisition and movement off the ball while maximizing performance.

10:00-11:00 am
Entering the Attacking 1/3 - Carlos Juarez
Maximize your attacking priorities.  Get into the attacking 1/3 of the field with a variety of movements and combinations.  Coach Juarez will show different ways that midfielders and forwards combine to open up the opponent’s defense.
11:45-12:45 pm Goalkeeping from an MLS All-Star - Pat Onstad
  The modern-day goalkeeper has to have a variety of skills in their "toolbox".  Coach Onstad will address new ideas in goalkeeping through a variety of activities.
1:30-2:30 pm
The Barcelona Way - Matt Badiee

The number 1 club team in the world gives us a variety of new and an evolution of old ideas. Coach Badiee will present some of the modern thoughts on improving your team’s possession and penetration.

3:00-4:00 pm
Defending in the Midfield- Jon Atkinson
Defending to set up a counter attack is a key component of the game.  Coach Atkinson will take a close look at defending principles in the middle third of the field. Focus will be on using 3 and 4 midfielders.
